D. B. Cooper: Case Closed Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Obilon: Hate to delete logs, but hate logs that are bogus even more.
Time for this one to go. I walked out to the once challenging location, now just a huge field of dirt waiting for the builders to bury this once pretty woodland area into a pile of concrete, wood, steel and noise. After 8 years, an iconic geocache honoring the work of fellow Outlaw Cacher, Amtg, has to go away.

Geocache Description:

This is a simple (?) 2-stage multi, the culmination of the D.B.Cooper series first placed by Amtg, and later supplemented by Hikemeister and myself. The mystery is resolved! D. B. Cooper is no more. You've found his trail, you found the airport, you've found his money, and now you've found....

D. B. Cooper is the name attributed to a man who hijacked a Boeing 727 in the United States on November 24, 1971, received $200,000 in ransom, and parachuted from the plane. The name he used to board the plane was Dan Cooper, but through a later press miscommunication, he became known as "D. B. Cooper". Despite hundreds of leads through the years, no conclusive evidence has ever surfaced regarding Cooper's true identity or whereabouts, and the bulk of the money has never been recovered. Several theories offer competing explanations of what happened after his famed jump, but the FBI believes he did not survive. The Cooper case has baffled government and private investigators for decades, with countless leads turning into dead ends. Info from Wikipedia Now YOU will know what finally happened! To find the "remains", take the sum of both the dates of birth and death, add them in a linear manner (e.g. April 19, 1492 and Dec 3, 1559 adds up to 49), add 18 more for good measure, multiply that number by 5, then ADD to the last 3 digits of the posted north coordinate to get the final north location. Do the same with the west coordinate, but SUBTRACT from the last 3 digits of the posted coordinate. You will ONLY be able to get the information you need by visiting stage one. Don't let traditional taboos hinder you. CONGRATS TO [JJDP] AND DOGGYMAMA FOR A MOST EXCELLENT EFFORT!!
