Geocache Description:

CITO event at Mission Tejas State Park. Entry fees waived for participants. Annual Folk Festival featuring historical reenactment and demonstrations on the 20th, so considering camping that weekend. More details in Description

This CITO event will take place on April 21st, with the Annual Folk Festival happening on the 20th. Entry fees will be waived for participants, so be sure to mention it to the front desk staff. Trash bags will be provided, but bring your own water and gloves if you like.

We'll meet at the Headquarters at 10am, but latecomers are welcome all day long. Cachers will be free to walk the trails, roads and other areas as they like, finding caches and carrying out any trash.  The park also has 3 TGCC caches in it, as well as several others.

Mission Tejas State Park, originally constructed by the Civilain Conservation Corps in 1935 contains approximately 5 miles of trail (soon to be 10), campground, fishing pond, playground and historic structures. Considering camping with us this weekend to see the annual Folk Festival on the 20th.

It'll be a great weekend to experience the Piney Woods of East Texas, and visit one of the hidden gems of the Texas State Park System. Any questions about the event can be answered at the park by calling 936-687-2394. Hope to see you there!
