Whether you've pulled off this exit to buy gas, visit a business in the area, or to find the other J.O.E. (just off exit) located at the end of this road, I thought you would like a chance for another smiley. You can park across the street and look in the woods but please don't cross the fence as that area is posted.
Arrowood Southern is an industrial/warehousing area that was first built to manufacture artillery shells for World War II. There is a railroad spur that comes up from near Pineville and this whole area is laced with rail sidings. During the 60s Pat Hall and others turned this area into the warehousing and manufacturing center that it is today, and having I-77 bisect it has really put this place on the map. Oh, and there was just enough land left over on which Mr. Hall could build his pet project, Carowinds! Happy hunting!
