Geocache Description:

This Cache is placed very near to a memorial garden remembering the Battle of the Somme.

The scheme was awarded an EU grant which enabled Cloughey folk to design and build an attractive garden with artistic panels about the Irish Regiments that participated in the Battle of the Somme in the First World War.

The children from Kirkistown Primary School and St Patricks Primary School, Ballygalget participated in the planting of the garden.

The centrepiece is by local artist Owen Crawford in the form of a war grave headstone in portland Stone.  The illustration shows two children holding hands symbolizing hope for the future.

When you find the Cache its well worth a wee dander to the Garden. There's lots of seating and great views over the Irish Sea towards the Isle of Man and on to Cumbria.

This is of course weather dependent, I've been here on occasions and couldn't see the Beach!!

The Cache is a small Tablock box, it contains a log and a few small swaps.
It's not the busiest place in the World, but you'll still need to be discreet!!
