In 2000 the State of California published the California 150 Sesquicentennial Passport. With it, visitors to a State Park could stop at a visitor center with a stamping station, and stamp their passport with a rubber stamp. I have found that you don't really need the passport, any piece of paper would work. At one park the ranger even offered his name/business card for us to use.
