Welcome to the Grindle Greenway Trail
This trail is on public land that is part of the Pitt County GreenWay Initiative.
It is currently used for hiking, biking, horseback riding and kayaking. You can hike, bike or drive the entire trail.
Trail Road: DRIVE SLOW! Packed sand & clay, a few puddles; heavy rain may be a factor. Watch for potholes. There are several entry points from the highways. Only enter the trail from a paved highway. Creek bank is soft-- watch your step. Trees with purple paint indicate private land; you won't need to go there anyway.
Caches: Most containers, but not all, are camo pill bottles tied w. mono fil. There are a few zingers to shake things up. Please keep in place. Caches may be on the creek bank, a tree or in a sneaky nook. Some will be easy, some will require all your geoskillz.
Beware of poison plants, snakes, ticks, fire ants, skeeters & hunters--all depending on the season you visit.
Helpful tools: First Aid Kit, Gloves.
Free Briers.
Day Time Only!
Time to turn around--This is the last cache on the trail. Although the road continues for a short distance there is no exit to the main highway.
