Geocache Description:

When not being visited by Aliens ( http://tinyurl.com/9waaqvl - sure looks like a Seagull to me!) Black Head is connected to the mainland by an istmus (so _that's_ that they're called!) and it's thought what's left, two high banks and one deep ditch, could indicate it's use as a fort. A monument to A. L. Rowse is nearby as well as two other caches.

Trenarren is a gem of a hidden hamlet standing at the gateway to Black Head, which separates St Austell and Mevagissey Bays. Mid-way between Porthpean and Pentewan it has remained rural and remarkably unchanged, and consists of half a dozen pretty cottages and gardens; a large house (which was once owned by A L Rowse) and a post box, all nestled in a coombe that slips down to the tiny cove of Hallane between lovely cliff walks on the headland.

A relatively short walk (couple of miles and change) which you can head in either direction for, contains stiles, steep bits and cliff-side bits, it can be muddy and slippery so please ensure you take all of the usual precautions with kids, dogs and yourselves. I would not take buggies or wheelchairs, sadly it's not that kind of terrain. Decent-sized pots so there'll be room for bugs and trades, caches placed with a mind for the families but the kids will need a little help with a couple. Please trade fairly. Also for added fun ensure you collect the numbers for the bonus at the end.
