The Cañon City area of eastern Fremont County is home to 46 mountain summits and peaks ranging between 5,469 and 9,560 feet. However, one is located on Fort Carson (Wild Mountain) and the other is located on the East Cañon Correctional Complex (Castle Rock) and are not accessible to the general public.
The Gorge Hills is a mountain range located four miles northwest of Cañon City, Colorado, within the Royal Gorge Park. This is a city park that is maintained by the Cañon City Recreation and Parks District and not to be confused with the Royal Gorge Bridge Park, which is a tourist attraction that requires an entrance fee.
The Gorge Hills climb to 6,814 feet.
The summit can be accessed by foot after parking off of County Road 389B east of the north rim of the Royal Gorge Bridge Park.
