Geocache Description:

Every once in awhile I get an idea for a cache while hiking in the woods.  Now my ideas don't always pan out.  Indeed, in this particular case, one of my lock n lock containers met its untimely demise while doing some field testing.  Fortunately, I happened to also have an ammo can and it did the job for me.  So, here is my latest cache and likely last one for awhile.  A bushwhack starting point has been provided.  Please read the description below carefully.

Still here? Great! You'll be hiking in the woods for this one. I recommend bringing a pair of gloves with you. They could come in handy later. The roundtrip distance is roughly 0.6 miles. There are trails, but at some point it will probably be easier to bushwhack a little. You will need to hop over a small creek on your way to the cache.

Once you get to ground zero, the cache should not be hard to find. Technically, there are two ways to get the cache. The easiest and recommended way is to find a long nearby poking tool (stick). The other way involves climbing. But you don't really want to do that, trust me.

Once you have the cache in hand, sign the log and you will get credit for the find. But here is where I think the real fun begins. The challenge is to toss (shoot) the cache back up to its resting spot, in the "V" of the tree, in the fewest attempts possible. If you're successful in getting the cache back in its spot, please note in your log how many attempts it took. Be honest please. Nobody likes a liar. :p And no, you don't really have to do a skyhook! Although, if you really can, you are definitely the man!!! I will keep a leaderboard, track the top scores, and post them on the cache page. To eligible for the main leaderboard, you must successfully have tossed the cache back up to its spot. Click below to watch two different cachers, jumpnshoot and mobywv, succesfully toss the cache back up in the tree. Note where they're standing and the different tossing techniques, in particular. It should prove to be quite helpful.

If you are unable to get the cache back in its spot after numerous attempts and are beyond frustrated, you MAY hide the cache on the ground under the nearby branches. Sharky6, the FTF, proved that it is possible to use brains over brawn to get the cache back up in its spot. So if the tossing isn't working, you may wish to try using a nearby tool to help you out. While you won't be eligible for the main section of the leaderboard using such method, you will still get recognition for having gotten the cache back up in its proper spot. But remember, all you have to do is sign the log to get credit for the geocache find. So don't sweat it if you can't get the cache back up to its proper spot.

One last and VERY IMPORTANT thing. There is a small chance you may encounter horseback riders in the woods. If this happens, you will need to adhere to the guidelines I've listed below. PLEASE READ carefully.

If you ENCOUNTER a HORSEBACK RIDER in the woods:

1. Give horseback riders the right of way on trails

2. Stand to the side of the trail until horses are well past you

3. Speak to horseback riders as they approach. This helps the horse understand that you are not a threat

4. Never run at or touch a horse without the riders permission

5. Never follow directly behind a horse

THANKS FOR YOUR COOPERATION

Well, that pretty much sums everything up. I do hope you enjoy the hike. For those that choose to take the skyhook challenge, may the odds be forever in your favor! Happy caching!

Congratulations to Sharky6 for FTF!

Below is the leaderboard. To be eligible for the first section you must get the cache back up in its spot by tossing it. If you get it up there by other means (non-toss) or are present when someone else successfully tosses it up, you will still get recognition in the second section for having successfully gotten the cache back up there.
