Godings Bay Cannon Traditional Cache
Peabody: Due to the amount of debris and loss of the cache container numerous times, I will archive this one and create an earth cache for the promontory. Thanks for your visits.

Also known as Schooner Bay, this beach is signposted as Godings Bay. You can approach from the south end of the beach, or turn in from the main street near the grocery store.
To access by vehicle we suggest a careful approach, as it is a single width lane.
The cache container is a clear plastic screw top container the size of a large apple. It has a red top and is partially covered in green. The cache is partially covered by coral stone rock to protect it.
This location previously hosted two CITO events and another cache prior to the renovation.
The old foundation has been modified recently to become a fixture to mount an old English cannon. The exterior condition of the military artifact indicates that the cannon has spent some time submerged in sea water. It now has a peaceful resting place as it points out over the ocean in a westward direction.
