Geocache Description:

The next stop on the first leg of the trail along the Yarra. This section is baseball themed: A-Z

Baseball started in the 1860s by bored cricketers in their off season. Brought to Australia by Yankees here for the gold-rush, it has historically struggled for ground space and popularity in the shadows of Footy. We did score a silver for the green and gold at Athens in 04 though.
From the nearby bridge you can be an outfield voyeur if there's a game playing, and if anyone asks you what you are doing amongst all the rocks, just say you are looking for the home run ball!
