The design of this cache means the log is fairly exposed to the elements. The paper will tolerate being wet (rite in rain) and you CAN write on it when wet, Biro, felt and Pencil will endure.
This is a 2 circuit 220kV transmission tower. It was built in the 1970s to connect Templestowe Terminal Station to a future Bulleen Terminal station that was never built. Though the lines can carry 220kv, the are only energised to 66kV, a voltage that can run on wooden poles. Thanks Stellasboys for this info
