Being "walked" is when a batter advances to first base without contest.
Usually after the delivery of 4 "balls" (pitches deemed outside of the strike zone), but can also be given as a penalty against the fielding team, or after the batter is struck by the pitch.
Seen by some as a soft or undesirable outcome from batting, getting on base is a fundamental aspect of the game, and if the bases are loaded it forces a home.
This cache was replaced in Jan 2014 after a tree fell on the old hide. I'm sure it's still under there somewhere, but I couldn't find it. As GZ is now so impenetrable it seemed a perfect place for the replacement to go. Container is a bit smaller and retrieval is a bit of a scramble now. August 2016 container replaced with something a bit bigger again and hopefully more waterproof.
