Geocache Description:

CARSHALTON WATER TOWER

This is a small cache with a view of the Water Tower and a very short walk away from Carshalton Ponds and a number of nice local pubs.
One to enjoy at the weekend.

The Water Tower is an 18th Century listed building in the grounds of Carshalton House.

As the name suggests it used to pump water to the house but now stands as an historic building run as a charity to highlight another peice of heritage in the borough.
The remains of the water wheel have been restored and along with the Orangery, Saloon, stunning tile lined plunge bath and views of Carshalton House from the roof this makes for an interesting peice of history.

The Water Tower, garden and Hermitage are open on various Sundays throughout the year.

The cache itself is a short distance away and is a small snapbox with enough room for a couple of small trades or trackables.
