Public Fishing! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Paleoman52: I was alerted by the last finder that this cache was in rough shape so I immediately drove up to the spot and could see that time and vandals had taken their toll on this unique hide. I determined it was FUBAR and removed it after the last finder signed the logbook. All is not lost though, once I brought the container home I repaired it back to its original state and put it into service as a home for any homeless birds in my backyard. Thanks to all of you that did this cache and for all of your comments.

Geocache Description:

Well hidden micro, in a favorite place to fish! Park along the road to search for this cache.

I've located this cache in a place that has a very special meaning to me. When I was a youngster my Dad would bring me to this place to cast a few lines and try my hand at catching an illusive trout on opening day of Trout season. This day was special because not only was it opening day for fishing season but it was also my Birthday, Yep you guessed it, I was born on April Fools Day (April 1st). I can remember many opening days arriving here to stand in the snow while I fished as Spring came late a few years. I have many wonderful memories of those times with my Dad, so this cache is dedicated to those days!

This is a good hide of a matchstick container and I ask that once you have found it, Please make sure that everything is put back the way it is meant to be hidden. I request this because this is located near an area where muggles young and old gather to fish, and if this is not put back right, it will get discovered and possibly stolen. Be sure to use stealth when retrieving this cache and handle things gently and carefully to allow this hide to last, no need to use force for any part of the cache!

Thanks for visiting this special area and if the season is right, bring along your pole and some bait and enjoy fishing here just as I did as a child with my Dad!
