Geocache Description:

Amazing history here in the Lewiston area and with the revitalization of the Bates Mill Complex.

Team P.I.T.H. (paynim 45, iampaw, trick or treat and hockeyma) cached in the area recently and stopped for a tour. Highly recommended for the contributions to the community and personal enjoyment.

There is a legend of the Flying Moose, Pamola, passed down from the Abenaquis tribe and Penobscot legend of the Moose which is said to be a spirit that is the god of Thunder, the cause of cold weather and protector of Mt Katahdin, the tallest peak in the state of Maine. There is also a great Moose statue with wings you should check out if caching north for some grids.
