Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a gravesite of people who were killed in a stage robbery.

Just up the hill from the gravesite is a cliff which contains the name of P.L. Poorman who engraved his name her on Aug 17, 1868. I don't know if he was an employee of the stage company or a traveler coming through on the stage or just traveling the Overland Trail. On the cliffs just around the corner to the left. (South) there are more names engraved on the cliffs. Some are contemporary and some are 1800s. Go to the Restaurant and store at Point of Rocks and get some refreshment and maybe someone there can tell you where the Indian petroglyphs and more names are. A lot of history in this little community. Ask about the stinking springs.
