Geocache Description:

This cache immortalises a great Geelong cacher ... Bushfire. The cache is located along the Tailem Bend to Karoonda road. This is a good bitumen road with a wide mallee vegetation corridor.

Bushfire, better known as Laurie, joined geocaching on 20/12/2005. He is recognised in log books by his bright red ant stamp. He is well known in the Geelong area for his devious caches and informative and helpful logs. He is not one to shy away from giving you some constructive criticism on your cache hides, which helps bring up the quality of caches in the area.

His hardest cache in Geelong, Basilisk, has earned its favorite points and brought the sayings 'don't forget your Bushfire's tool kit' and 'It's a Bushfire hide' into the area.

Laurie is always there to lend a helping hand to any new cachers in the area and is always on for a chat when you catch up with him.

In his personal time Laurie is a volunteer fire fighter for the Highton Fire Brigade and doesn't mind a glass of wine.

Laurie has been a massive influence on our caching lives and for this he is our Wandering Hero!

Thank you to CPwanderer for offering to maintain this one for us.
