Geocache Description:

Caching. The Final Frontier. These are the journals of the dedicated cachers. Their ongoing mission to explore new areas, to seek out new caches, to bold go where no cacher has gone before (if they want a first to find.......)

The cache has been placed in line with the "Leave No Trace" principles so there is no need to tear up the countryside. It is not hidden in or under any rocks.

The cache is not at the coordinates but can only be found by solving the puzzle below.

During it's five year mission the original crew of the Enterprise generated 79 episodes not including the original pilot. Can you identify the episode from the description and generate a value for the letter?

A=Set on an earth like planet from the 1960s (who needs fancy sets) the crew meet the grups
B=The second pilot
C=The first episode (production order) to feature DeForrest Kelly, but not the first one to air (original broadcast order).
D=McCoy dies but wasn't killed by the Lewis Carroll character. Zero attacked the crew
E=We meet a classic enemy for the first time with Spock's father (not really) commanding them
F=Kirk goes native, gets married and becomes a widowerer.

G=Kirk uses sulphur, coal and "a girls best friend" to defeat an enemy
H=The crew defeat a greek god
J=The first of two appearances of a conman
K=The crew goes trick or treating (sort of)
L=Kirk gets revenge from an enemy 11 years after they first meet. Fine example of why not to wear a red shirt.
M=Spock almost gets married and almost kills his captain.

The formula is

N AB.0C.DEF W 00G.HJ.KLM

The checksum for the above letters =48

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

The cache is one of a series placed along a forest track. It's small, somewhere between a nano and a micro and is only a couple of steps from the path. The track can get muddy after rain and dress for the possibility of wet and cold conditions.

I know you can guess the values of AB and G. They're there to help you come up with viable numbers. The CO is very approachable for assistance as long as you can demonstrate you made some effort on the puzzle AND the FTF is gone.
