This is cache number 2 which takes you on part of the Houghall discovery trail.
This cache container is big enough to take some items and small trackables.
Located only a short distance from the centre of Durham, this is a lovely woodland walk with a wealth of history attached to it. It follows a discovery trail which takes you through the old Houghall Colliery and Estate, with information boards detailing the various areas passed on the walk.
The complete walk could be completed within 2 hours, depending how long it takes you to find the caches!
The paths are not suitable for wheelchair users and some of the caches require you to go up or down slippery banks or on uneven terrain, so take extra care.
Many of the caches are small or the log holders are small so a pair of tweezers is recommend. Each container is different and maybe one or two you will have not come across before.
