Geocache Description:

Down The Line is a series of caches to mark the Belfast and County Down Railway (BCDR).

This cache is placed on the embankment close to the old and now demolished Seaside Tavern. The line was moved closer to the shoreline in the late 60's early 70's to accommodate the Holywood through-pass (dual carriageway). The Seaside Tavern in its hey day was in my humble opinion the best wee pub in Holywood. Opposite the Seaside is a subway for the railway, on passing through you will see the spot where manys a shandy was consumed prior to patronising the Tavern. Unfortunately it was demolished some years ago, you can still see its remains

Cache is a micro situated on your right, just after exiting the subway.
