February 4 - Parents (his)
A series of caches placed everyday in February
If you know me, you know challenge caches are my favorite.
There are challenge caches that include finding a cache placed everydy of the month and then you qualify for a bonus, so maybe this series will make it easy.
Today would be secondwind's parents' 63rd wedding anniversary, though, sadly, neither are still with us.
So this cache is a tribute to them.
His dad was a soldier from North Carolina who met and married a local girl from Huntsville Park.
Across the street was Papa's Union 76 Station.
Secondwind and family moved back from Chicago when his dad bought the service station.
He worked here all through high school and until just before we were married.
His family lived near here, his mom grew up in the two story house almost across the street. His granddaddy built on to it from time to time to accommodate their large (7 boys and 3 girls) family.
Secondwind's parents owned and lived in the rock house for awhile.
This road was then known as Pee Ridge.
Cache is not a posted cords. You are near a street intersection. Look at the information provided. 34 41.ABC 86 37.XYZ
Find the street with the longest name, take the last three digits on the sign and add 72 for north cords; ABC
For west cords -subtract the smaller from the larger house numbers, # of letters in the shorter sign street name, then count the number of letters in the second word in the other sign (the longer street name) XYZ
If this is confusing, just email me for any clarification needed.
Congrats to Jacob for his first FTF...what a happy little guy!
