Ledbury RFC currently play in Midland Division - Midlands 3 West (South) and at the time of placing of the cache they were lying in 10th position in that Division.
Founded in 1882, the club initially had a nomadic existence, using numerous local hostelries as a base and it took a further 110 years before it was decided to build a clubhouse.
A few years later changing rooms were added and then in 1999 the whole dynamic changed, with the new 1st XV pitch, the pavilion room and changing facilities.
It was a Lottery and Sport England Grant in 1999 that brought the clubhouse facilities to a new level, but with it huge accountability and this laid the foundation for the development of Ledbury RFC as a hub for local sport.
From humble beginnings the club now runs 10 junior rugby sides at various age groups, plus the seniors and with all the other sports such as football, cricket, athletics, netball, archery, kick boxing, ballroom dancing, bowls, there is some activity at the club virtually every day of the year.
