Geocache Description:

 
The Mt Stewart Centennial Memorial Reserve was built in 1940 for the early European settlers and rededicated in the 1990 bicentennial by the Governor General.  It is listed in the District as having heritage value with a C category. The top of the memorial provides a stunning lookout of the Manawatu plains with views of both the Ruahine and Tararua ranges and the impressive wind farm on the horizon. 

The cache is a few meters from the carpark with easy access. This area can be a popular spot for 'social interactions', so beware of cheeky mugglers hiding in the bush!
