Geocache Description:

This cache is one of several placed on the tow-path alongside the lovely, tranquil Grantham Canal. The canal is teeming with wildlife for most of the year and even at it's quietest there are always the swans .

This is a disguised nano-cache which only has room for a log, so please ensure that you have a pencil, also, as is so often the case, a pair of tweezers will make life so much easier in extracting the log.

This is one of several caches, both my own, and those of others, along this section of the Grantham Canal which wends it's way through the beautiful Vale of Belvoir. The towpath surface is variable and this section between Bottesford Wharf and Redmile is grassed which means that it can be get somewhat water-logged in winter or after prolonged rain, therefore under those conditions it will not be suitable for either wheelchairs or strollers although in summer it is much firmer.

I am a bit of a wimp    and DO try to avoid thorns and nettles myself, and therefore do not deliberately place my own caches in really thorny places or in nests of nettles; however I do have to work with the terrain available and the material that nature provides, so sometimes they are unavoidable, so please take care. Likewise the towpath is next to a canal, so the usual caveats about children and water apply. This particular cache is NOT next to the water; have fun, but do take care and be safe.
