Geocache Description:

Ever wished you were really tall? Especially to be able to reach these high-terrain caches? If you were as tall as this very tall Canadian, you wouldn't even need some sort of specialized equipment to reach the cache...

There is a small cash prize for the FTFer, and swag to trade.

Parking is available along the roadside. The cache is just a few metres to the east.

This cache is named in honour of the tallest Canadian woman, Carol Hare. Hare was born in 1945 in Collingwood, Ontario. She was 7 feet tall by age 14, and left public school. She was 229 cm (7 feet 6 inches) tall in August of 1961, when she tripped over a roadside curb in front of her house, at the age of 16.
She suffered severe facial lacerations and fractured her neck vertebrae. The local hospital in Collingwood did not have an ambulance big enough and she was transported in a furniture truck. The fall left her paralyzed for life. Together with her father Albert she launched a lawsuit against the town of Collingwood for $1.2 million, and eventually settled out of court for $88,000. She died 2 years later in a Toronto hospital.
