This cache is located at the summit of Mt Buangor. The mountain rises quickly from the plains below, 500 metres up in just a kilometre, you will be standing over 1000m above sea level!
On a clear day spectacular views can be seen from the lookout. About 74kms to the south you may be able to see Mount Elephant, an extinct volcano and looking west is a wind power farm, Mt Langi Ghiran and The Grampians Range on the horizon.
I have added a parking waypoint and Mt Buangor Track trailhead waypoint because the final 100m of track to the summit is closed to vehicles. In dry weather an adventurous two-wheel-drive may be able to navigate to the parking coordinates but if it is wet a four-wheel-drive geohunter will be needed.
At high elevations like this the weather can change quickly. Bring warm/appropriate clothing. I placed the cache on a hot day, but I still pulled on a jumper to make the final approach from the car. The cache is well away from the steep terrain but please be careful near the lookout if foggy or dark.
