According to Wikipedia and other sources, on February 19th:
1473 – Nicolaus Copernicus, mathematician and astronomer is born in the Kingdom of Poland
1847 – The first group of rescuers reaches the Donner Party.
1878 – Thomas Edison patents the phonograph.
1942 – During World War II, President Roosevelt signs executive order 9066, allowing the United States military to relocate Japanese-Americans to internment camps. The Order is rescinded exactly 34 years later by President Ford.
