What might seem to be a bit of a messy pond was installed as the St Peters estate was being developed to control the extra runoff of water from roads and roofs.
Small shrubs planted beside the lagoon are now of a reasonable size the trunk of the hide is quite twisted and so distinctive . At the end of a culdesac and a bit overlooked so be aware of Muggles you could always be doing a bit of pond dipping amonng the bullrushes. Never very deep water but not reccomended that kids are allowed to try to cross the lagoon even if it looks dry. Come here for tadpoles and to watch minibeasts , see the excellent maps on the Geograph.co.uk site for a spot on OSgrid fix . Since the original site was well muggled the cache is now beside the next tree with a double trunk , remember its on the lagoon side less overlooked by the houses .
