Geocache Description:

Tamagawa waterworks go underground from this spot.
It is almost 31 km from Hamura, start point of the waterworks.
It joins Kanda river near Takaido station.
The cache is hidden near the end of the waterworks. Please don't get into prohibited area beyond a sign plate to search a cache.

玉川上水の清流復活区間終点　浅間橋跡
玉川上水が上水らしい風景をみせてくれる開渠区間はここまでです。
起点の羽村堰からおおよそ30kmの位置になります。
小平から放たれた水の大部分は、高井戸駅南西で神田川に放流されています。


そして暗渠は首都高速道路に平行もしくは沿う形で、ゴール地である 四谷大木戸 に向かっています。積極通水されておらず、目にもほとんど触れませんが、玉川上水下流部は今でも生きているのです。
キャッシュは水道用地内にはないので、写真の看板がお願いしているように立ち入らないでくださいね。
