Tea At Row

Tea At Row

(The cache is not at the posted co-ordinates)
(The park is open 08:00-22:00)

Located at the crossroads of Cea Bermúdez and Bravo Murillo we find the Canal Theatre complex, a performing arts centre opened in 2009 and owned by the Canal de Isabel II Water Company, itself owned by the Community of Madrid.

The theatre complex has over 35,000 square metres and was designed by architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg. The complex has two theatres known as the the Red & Green rooms, a rehearsal area called the Black Chamber, the Canal Dance Centre and an integrated building with nine classrooms. The programme schedule includes theatre, dance, operetta, opera, cabaret, children's theatre and both classical & contemporary concerts. Annually, the theatre hosts hundreds of performances.

Directly across the junction from the theatre is a statue of Juan Bravo Murillo, sculpted by Miguel Ángel Trilles (1866-1936). Originally erected at the Bilbao roundabout in 1902, the statue was moved in 1960 to its present location when the roundabout was in need of remodelling. The statue is a memorial to the minister (of Queen Isabel II) who was responsible for bringing running water from the River Lozoya to Madrid. The statue sits directly alongside the Canal Isabel II Water Company's central offices and above several huge underground water reservoirs, upon which Madrid relies.
