The 11th Annual CITO weekend is scheduled for April 20 at 1 pm.
Nestled in the heart of urban South Augusta is a natural and historic gem located just off Deans Bridge Rd on Old Us HWY 1. With the sounds of a babbling stream accompanying the serene view of a large pond full of geese and other birds surrounded by beautiful hardwood forest, the 55 acre Lombard Mill Pond conservation area is a world away from the traffic and parking lots of the urban environment - a welcome retreat from city life.
The cleanup will consist of picking up trash in the immediate parking lot and throughout the trail system. There will be leaves, limbs and brush to clear from the actual trail. Also there will be small vegetation to cut and one large tree to clear of a bridge.
Items to Bring:
Gloves and any trash picking up device you may have
Gas powered chain saws & leaf blowers
Rakes, Loppers / cutters
WATER.....
As a special bonus, those logging "Attended" at a CITO Event on the 2013 CITO Weekend will receive a digital Souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
