The "TB Hotel" on the Great Ocean Rd at the 12 Apostles is an easy drive-by cache providing a comfortable setting and stop-over facility for international and interstate Travel Bugs/coins.
This cache replaces "GOW:The End" and uses the same co-ordinates.
This easy drive-by cache is a TB Hotel providing a comfortable setting and stop-over facility for international and national Travel Bugs.
The TB will be able to learn much about the area from Earth and Traditional caches along this stretch of the world-famous Great Ocean Road passing by the Twelve Apostles. The Great Ocean Road and the The Twelve Apostles together attract lots of traffic and many thousands of visitors. Your TB has a great opportunity to be collected and travel onwards across the wide World or, maybe discover more of Australia from this point on.
The cache is located on the Great Ocean Road away from most travellers in a very small and little used off-the-road parking area with a small stand of Aussie ti-tree scrub providing a protective screen from busy road traffic.
The steps rising from this car park are the end of the previous 'Great Ocean Walk' (GOW: The End) cache. These steps will take you up to the GOW and some seats plus a spectacular viewing area of one of the Apostle stacks. This platform viewing area has fixed steadying platforms for cameras, video, binoculars, etc.
Look out for whales in July!
Nearby, along this section of coast, fairy penguins have been observed coming in at dusk.
The GOW has now been extended through to the Visitor Centre at The Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road. It is incorrect to continue to call this original cache GOW: The End, so TB Hotel @ The 12 Apostles has been created to replace it.
The cache is a 2L sistema container with swaps, log, pens, and plenty of room for Travel Bugs/Coins. The cache can possibly be seen from the roadway so PLEASE do not scramble in the trees/bushes and further contribute to the areas degradation. It can be recovered without leaving the roadway.
We have moved away from the area of our caches and will no longer provide maintenance support. Our caches need to be transferred to a cacher willing to provide support.
