Donisthorpe Orchard, is a community space tucked away on the edge of Donisthorpe village, a peaceful and productive place. Along with the rejuvenation of the orchard the old custom of Wassail has been revived when once a year on a January evening villagers process to the orchard and ‘wake it up’ with bells and noise, the main tree is ‘blessed’ and all wish for a fruitful harvest. At harvest time folks gather here again to collect the apples and celebrate with apple themed games, stories and crafts.
A search for the cache then maybe sit a while and watch the apples grow.
