Geocache Description:

This cache is in the area of the entrance to the wild life trust bird sanctuary on sheep crazing land.

There is a good long distant veiw of the castle on Piel Island. Crossing the cattle grid takes you into the bird sanctuary where information on the entry requirements can be found on the noticeboard.

There are good walks in the sanctuary which are well signed and easy  to take with easy walking. There is also an oyster farm within the sanctuary. There are seals in the area and can often be seen in the surrounding sea.

This cache is not to hard to find and was sited with children in mind, it contains several small toys, such as squinkies and small wild animal models. There is also a log book and pen enclosed.

In winter months it might be a good idea to wrap up as there is some truth in the saying "Windy Walney" and a warm drink might be a good idea.

Caution:- there is a cattle grid and a road with a very limited volume of traffic suggesting children would need to be suitably supervise.
