Geocache Description:

This' lump of metal' is situated in the very historic Lime Kiln Lane. Opposite is an old capstan, could this be something similar? The area between Lime Kiln Lane and Duke Street Bridge was originally known as the'Hooks'. Monks from Birkenhead had a free right of way to their lands in Wallasey. At the other end of the lane is the oldest remaining house in the town.
In your log please make 'polite' suggestions (unlike Ian - you will understand when you see it!)  as to what this structure could be.
