The area in which this cache is hidden used to be where the Hilton Council offices were before the new dispensation of 1994. With the new demarcation of municipal boundaries, Hilton became part of the uMngeni Municipality, with disastrous result.
The area of grass near the cache used to be a caravan park utilsed by travellers to and from the coast. It is now a wasteland of weeds and invasive alien plants.
The cache is hidden in a Magnolia tree which can be magnificent in spring.
