The Twenty Peaks (and The Ten Caches) Traditional Cache
The Twenty Peaks (and The Ten Caches)

The cache is near to the top of a volcano with splendid views. The name of the cache comes from the number of peaks that can be seen from the summit. In fact there are more than twenty and in addition there are more than ten peaks that can be seen with caches on top of them.
This volcano looks a liitle daunting but is in fact one of the easiest climbs to one of my caches. The views are some of the best to be seen from one of my caches.
The cache is high above the cache GC387TH Vallebron Vistas Vallebron Views and the best way to approach this cache is via the latter cache.
The terrain is remarkably good for a volcano on the island, there is plenty of bedrock, only a liberal sprinkling of rocks and the climb not too steep. In addition the rocky peak is easily climbed with no steep drops to the side or behind. The descent is only slightly more difficult than the ascent.
For this reason the climb is suitable for all but the yougest children. Although walking shoes are recommended, the hike is perfectly feasible in stoutly soled trainers.
After finding the cache it is recommended that you walk along the ridge to the mirador overlooking the village of Vallebron. The ridge walk is easy although as you approach the mirador you will need a bit of a head for heights as there are sharp falls to the side.
The mirador is at a much lower altitude than the cache. If you are tempted to strike out directly to the parking place then beware, there are many loose rocks and the terrain is much worse than the the climb to the cache.
