At the London 2012 Summer Paralympics, Pamela Relph, along with crewmates Naomi Riches, David Smith, James Roe and Lily van den Broecke (cox), won gold medals for Great Britain in the mixed coxed fours event at Eton Dorney. Pamela was subsequently awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Years Honours for services to rowing.
To celebrate the fantastic achievements of all the Great British Olympic and Paralympic gold medallists at London 2012, the Royal Mail painted a post box gold for each gold medallist, usually in their home town. This cache celebrates both Pamela’s fantastic achievement at the Paralympics and also the gold post box that commemorates it.
Inspired by Golden Greg’s Golden Pegs, the cache is a simple two stage multi. Parking is available nearby at the village hall (parking coordinates listed below). The coordinates at the top of the page will take you to the gold post box, where you should first take a few seconds to remember both Pamela’s gold medal and the wonderful accomplishments of all the TeamGB and ParalympicsGB athletes in the wonderful golden summer of 2012. Then obtain the following information from the postbox.
