Drive North from Las Vegas on 95 Approximately 25 miles to Corn
Creek Field Station turnoff (a dirt road on the east side of 95
lined with mail boxes). Drive 4 miles on excellent dirt to Corn
Creek Field Station. Turn right on Mormon Wells Road and travel 4
miles to Gass Peak Road. Take the fair dirt Gass Peak Road for
approximately 6.7 mile to a signed Service Road. Parking here is
recommended since this road is for authorized vehicles only. The
cache is less than ¾ of a mile away.
After traveling this far you should make the moderately strenuous
2.5 mile (5 miles RT, 4-5 hours) hike to the top of Gass Peak, W 36
24.027 / N 115 10.819. Here you will find a large array of solar
cells powering a radio antenna along with awesome views of the Las
Vegas Valley, Lake Mead and beyond.
