The cache is located on an a rocky island in Pactola Lake, hence the name Alcatraz. In the warmer summer months people have been known to cliff jump from the rocky ledges into the lake below, depending on the water level of the lake. This cache is accessible in the winter via walking over to the island on the ice, if the ice is thick enough. In the summer one can swim, paddle a canoe or kayak to it, or access it from a motor or sail boat if out on the water. In addition to the water/ice access hazard, there is rock scrambling involved to get to the area of the cache. Use your common sense and be safe, search for this cache at your own risk. The easiest way to scale the island is to start at the north tip and climb along the back side of it, the side facing the open water, and head up from there. The cache is a mega metal bison tube hidden in the rocks. Camo'd with rocks. There is a FTF Signal the Frog unactivated geocoin for the FTF. There is a pencil in the cache for logging, along with some other small swag. Enjoy the great views from the top of the island. I will include a spoiler picture if you want to view it, since the iron containing rock makes it hard to get exact coords. I averaged the above coords for about 5 minutes, so hopefully they are close. Please rehide the cache well, since there is alot of traffic up here, especially in the summer months. Parking is available at the Visitor's Center just south down Hwy 385 past the island.
