William Wesley (Bill) Messeroll was born on December 23, 1924, in Lansing, to William and Etta Messeroll. He graduated in the first graduating class of Sexton High School. Though being a paraplegic from age 23 when he contracted polio, he led a very active and full life. He was a barber for 41 years in the Lansing area, most of those years on the corner of Pennsylvania and Michigan at Bill’s Barber Shop. He was active in the local and state Barber Association, serving as President of both. He was the legislative agent for the State Barber's Association. He served on the state Barber Licensing Board. He was a WWII veteran receiving a medical discharge. He was a Big Brother. He was a member of Central Free Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and a member of various other boards. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially several trips to Europe and out west. He was a member of the Lansing area post polio organization. He enjoyed organizing and attending family events. He was preceded in death by his parents and his four sisters, Evelyn (William) Perry, Florence (George) Klein, Tillie (Eldon) Cummings, and Bertha Baker. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 68 years, Juanita, and children Dianna (Kenneth) Smith, LeAnne Brissette, William (Jeri) Messeroll, and Kenneth (Jessica) Messeroll and grandchildren Gregory (Page) Smith, Kevin (Danielle) Smith, Gretchen (Wes) Stevenson, Sabra Toroneck, Barron Brissette, Jamie Messeroll, a granddaughter due in February, and great grandchildren Malachi, Rylee, Ezekiel, Colton, Gideon, Jacob, Jenna, Anna, Joshua, and Abigail
We all miss you Dad and hope you know how much you were respected and loved by all.
