Geocache Description:

The cache is a medium camouflage lock-n-lock container.

A great adventure around the backside of a beautiful lake. Whether you are hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, or snowmobiling, you will be able to enjoy this series of caches partway around Lake Eaton.

The geocache is placed along a NYS DEC Snowmobile trail ( also used for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hiking).  During hunting season, please dress appropriately.  In winter, please step aside to let the snowmobilers pass.

This cache is one in a series of caches related to mammals that can be found in the Central Adirondack region.  The black bear is not usually awake in the winter but can be found nosing around the campground during the other seasons...

You can hike or ski this trail as part of a 4-mile loop that begins at Lake Eaton Campground.  The loop covers both sides of State Route 30 and crosses the highway approximately 2-miles northwest of the campground entrance.
