This cache is part of the CACHE TO EAGLE series. Cache is located AT OR NEAR a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout project that has been done for the community. There are many requirements to earn the Eagle rank, and one of them requires scouts to lead a group of people on a project that benefits the community. The canidate must pick the project, plan it and lead it. They are required to raise the funds, receive donations, acquire volunteer services, provide for the needs of their volunteers, and ensure the safety of those they are leading in the project all while pitching in to complete the work. In most aspects the Eagle canidate will be leading adults along with their peers. This particular project was done by my son, Bullseye904.
Finegan Elementarys playground was over grown with brush to the point it was a safety hazard since the teachers could not see the children on the playground for the brush. The city did not have the funds to mow the grass on a regular basis so the plants got out of control. Soon it was too large of a project for the school to take care of. My son organized a group of youth and adults to come in and clear out trees, vines, palms, and old playground equipment. After three weekends of work, two full size semi truck dumpsters filled to capacity the project was done. The school later on was able to purchase new playground equipment for the children. Thank you to all of those who helped through hard labor, and to the businesses that supplied lunch free of charge.
