In der Anlage des Botanischen Garten findet ihr neben zahlreichen Pflanzen auch ein paar kleine süße Tiere.
Die Pflanzenwelt ist sicherlich beeindrucken, aber warum?! Dies liegt an den einmaligen Gegebenheiten auf den Balearen. Der so genannte TERRA ROSSA ist zwar ein grundlegen humosarmer, rötlicher erscheinender Boden, jedoch ist er bei entsprechender Wasserversorgung fruchtbar und lässt zahlreiche seltene Pflanzen erblühen.
Aufgrund seiner Eigenschaften werden auch zahlreiche Fossilien gefunden und sind sehr gut erhalten. Mehr zu den Fossilien, deren Entstehung und Erforschung erfahrt ihr im einzigen Botanischen Garten - eben mehr als nur Botanic! Größere Fossilien sind jedoch eher selten.
Die für diesen Boden verantwortlichen bodenbildenden Prozesse fanden meist schon im Tertiär vor max. 15 Mio. Jahren statt und bestanden vor allem aus Auswaschung der im Ausgangsgestein enthaltenen Carbonate bei gleichzeitiger Konzentration der Eisenanteile, wodurch die rote Farbe zustande kam. Man vermutet, dass dieser Prozess den Endzustand der Bodenbildung der Rendzina darstellt. Neuste Erforschungen des Bodens lassen tief in unsere Erdgeschichte blicken, so wurden in jüngster Zeit sogar Staub- und Sandpartikel ferner Regionen gefunden, welche die bekannte Bodenentstehung auf den Kopf stellen könnte.
Leider ist der Zutritt zum Botanischen Garten mit einem Obulus verbunden, aber alle notwendigen Informationen erhaltet ihr am Eingangsbereich in den ausliegenden Broschüren. Die Broschüren kann man kaufen, aber auch nur mal kurz durchstöbern. Des Weiteren sind dort Bilder vom Garten enthalten.

In the botanical gardens you will find numerous plants as well as a few cute animals.
The flora is certainly impressive -- but why? This is due to the unique conditions on the Balearic Islands. The so-called “TERRA ROSSA” is a soil with a low humus content and a reddish appearance. However, with the right water supply it is fertile and allows numerous rare plants to blossom.
Because of its properties, numerous fossils have also been found, and they are very well preserved. Larger fossils, however, are rather rare. You can learn more about these fossils, their formation and research about them in the leaflet “Botanic garden - more than just botanic!”
The processes of soil formation responsible for this type soil typically took place as far back as the Tertiary period, up to 15 million years ago, and consisted mainly of the simultaneous leaching of the carbonates contained in the parent rock with iron components, which gave rise to the red colour. This process is believed to represent the final step in formation of “rendzina” soil. Recent research on the soil allows us to look deep into our earth's history. Recently dust and sand particles from distant regions have even been found, which could revolutionise our knowledge of soil formation.
Unfortunately, there is a fee to enter the Botanical Garden, but you can get all the information you need from the brochures on display at the entrance. You can buy the brochures, but you can also just browse through them. They also contain pictures of the garden.

En el recinto del Jardín Botánico se encuentran numerosas especies de plantas junto a un par de lindos animalitos.
El mundo de las plantas es seguro para impresionar, pero ¿por qué? Esto se debe a las condiciones único en las Islas Baleares. Aunque el llamado TERRA ROSSA es un humosarmer fundamental, que aparece suelo rojizo, pero es fértil, con suministro de agua adecuado y muchas plantas raras pueden florecer.
Por sus características, se encuentran numerosos fósiles y están en muy buenas condiciones. Más información sobre el registro fósil, el origen y la exploración que se aprende en el único jardín botánico - más que Botánico! Sin embargo, los fósiles más grandes son raros.
El responsable de este suelo procesos formadores del suelo por lo general estaban ya en la era terciaria antes max.
