Geocache Description:

Two lovely beaches in the north of Mahe, framed by Lost Places... The beaches have everything you desire: white sand, palm trees, waves, granite rocks, clear water ...

Carana Bay is on the north coast of Mahe. Once there used to be a small hotel with a restaurant, but is is closed since many years and the buildings got overgrown by jungle. On the east side of the bay a huge building is in construction, maybe (hopefully?) construction has been abandoned...

You can leave the car at the parking coordinates and follow the small road leading down to the beaches. After about 200 meters you will meet the lost place of the former bungalows and restaurant. Follow the path leading east for some meters and find the cache, where a steep trail leads to a small, lovely beach.

Finally, do not miss to follow the main path for some meters more, to the large Carana Beach. Wonderful...

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian. Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.
