Geocache Description:

The third in a series of caches placed at or near village halls and community centres. A series which I hope other cachers will add to and expand into other areas. See the bookmark list for all the caches in the series.

This is an easy offset multi a short distance from the hall. The given coordinates are for the rear of the hall.

Deverell Hall Purbrook


Deverell Hall was built in the 1920's. Since its original construction, much has been done to modernise it and improve its overall appearance. Deverell Hall has had many refurbishments, some of these having being paid for by a National Lottery Grant and Local Council Funding but it still retains its outstanding character. The hall has continued to grow and develop, making it very popular for bookings and activities.

On the front wall of the hall are some stone plaques - number them 1-10 from left to right and find the following information.

The stone laid by Mrs Mansel-Jones = A
The only stone which is laid in memory of = B
The stone laid by Mary Gauntlett = C
The stone laid by J.R.C. Deverell = D
The stone laid by Lady Campbell = E
The stone laid by somebody with the initials F.W.= F


The cache can be found at North (A-B) (B-E) C West (A-D) FE
