Nesles est une commune française,de 990 habitants, située près de Boulogne-sur-Mer (Pas-de-Calais). Son patrimoine historique et industriel est très intéressant: Manoir de la Haye, Moulin de la Neuville, la Glaisière, l'usine TRB, la motte Castrale.
MOTTE CASTRALE
La motte castrale est un ouvrage de défense médiéval ancien, composé d'un rehaussement important de terre rapportée de forme circulaire, la motte. Il existe plusieurs formes d'édification de ces ouvrages, souvent appelés à tort « motte féodale », il en existe dans toutes les régions d'Europe.
La plupart du temps le sommet était occupé par une forte palissade. Un fortin de bois y était aménagé avec une tour de guet analogue à un donjon. La motte est considérée comme un château fort primitif.

The castel mound is a old medieval work of defense, consisted of an important raising of earth brought back by circular shape, the mound. There are several forms of construction of these works, often called wrongly " feudal mound ", it exists in all the regions of Europe there.
Most of the time the summit was occupied by a strong fence. A wooden small fort was fitted out with a watchtower similar to a donjon there. The mound is considered as a primitive fort.
Attention, le chemin peut être boueux. Un passage randonneur est aménagé à la barrière de la Motte.
