A walk around Den Wood, near Oldmeldrum. You can follow on from Geoki's Left Hand Loop and you'll come to the cache site. Alternatively, you could go the opposite way, by turning right at each path junction and you will come to the cache site a bit quicker. Either way the paths are very muddy.
We first came here (many years ago) in October and the girls were amazed at the number and different types of toadstools we saw. They named it "the toadstool walk" a name which has stuck ever since. This is a favourite walk of ours with something different to see each season. In the spring the area around the cache is carpeted with wood anemones and sorrel, in summer squirrels, deer and buzzards are about and in autumn there are the toadstools to look out for! Our first dog, Tara, loved this walk as there is lots of mud, water and plenty of rabbits and other good smells, so we scattered her ashes here a few years back. Thanks to the Woodland Trust for permission to place the cache.
