Spirits of Pubs Past is a series started by MarcusWallus - remembering old pubs all unfortunately now closed. Many would have been tiny alehouses occupying little more than the downstairs room of a house. Combinations of legislation, war time raids and changes in culture have led to many closing. Although many have gone, they have not been forgotten.

This is an urban cache in the village of Flordon, highlighting what used to be The Black Horse public house which closed at the end of January 1966. It is now a private dwelling.
The co-ordinates given are for the starting place, close to where the pub, sometimes known as the FORGE, once was, and not the final destination. There you will find the directions to the cache, a magnetic nano.
If you have any anecdotes, historical information or photographs please post.
The list of Licensees has been taken from the Norfolk Public Houses website.
